2 c. water
1-1/2 c. milk
1 tsp salt
1 cup grits
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 c. shredded cheese
1 can Ro-tel tomatoes
1 bunch chopped scallions
5 pieces cooked crumbled bacon
1 lb. peeled shrimp

Directions:
Directions:
Bring water and milk to boil. Add salt & grits. Return to boil then cover for 2 minutes.
Add butter. Cover & cook 2 to 3 minutes.
Stir in 1/2 of the cheese & the remainder of the ingredients Pour in an oven-safe dish & add the rest of the cheese on top.
Bake for 40 min. at 350º

Just try it... I was skeptical at first as well, but this is great. I made it for a neighborhood pot luck and two different husbands asked their wives to get the recipe the next day.
