1/2 C butter, softened
1/4 C packed brown sugar
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
Sifted powdered sugar

In mixer bowl cram butter and sugar till light and fluffy.By hand, add flour, mixing well to form ball. Do not use mixer or mixture will be dry and crumbly. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface; roll to 9x6x1/2 inch rectangle. Cut half the dough into 1 1/2 inch diamonds with cookie cutter and the remainder into 1 1/2 inch squared or rounds with cookie cutters. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake in 325º oven 25 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets to wire rack; cool. Sift powdered sugar over tops.
