5 - 7 tart apples
3/4 to 1 cup sugar
2 T. flour
1/8 t. salt
1 t. cinnamon
2 T. butter
top and bottom pie pastry

Directions:
Directions:
Pare apples; slice thin. Add sugar mixed with flour, salt and spices. Fill 9 inch pastry lined pan with apples. Dot with butter.

Put top crust on pie. Bake in 450 degree oven for 10 minutes, then lower temperature to 350 degrees and continue to bake for 40 to 50 minutes.

If apples aren't tart, add 1 T. lemon. Foil rim of pie while baking. Remove foil last 10 minutes of baking.
