2 C sifted all purpose flour
1 C brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 C butter (1/2 lb)
1/2 C granulated sugar
2 T cornstarch
1 8 3/4 oz can crushed pineapple
2 beaten egg yolks
1 C chopped maraschino cherries

Directions:
Directions:
In small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and salt; cut in butter. Set aside 1 cup crumb mixture; press remaining crumb mixture in bottom of greased 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake in 350º oven for 15 minutes. Cool slightly. Meanwhile, in saucepan, combine sugar and cornstarch. Stir in undrained pineapple and egg yolks. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, till mixture thickens and bubbles. Remove from heat; stir in cherries. Spread evenly over pre-baked layer. Sprinkle on reserved crumb mixture. Bake for 30 minutes more. Cool, cut into 30 bars.
