1/2 cup softened butter
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 c flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla

Icing:
1 stick butter (softened)
4 tbls milk
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl cream together butter and sugar. Add egg. Mix in the flour and baking powder (hint it’s always better to mix the baking powder and flour together well before putting into the butter and sugar mixture). Add vanilla. Chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours. With a rolling pin, roll out to about 1/4 thick and use your favorite cookie cutters to cut out shapes. Place the cookies on cookie sheet. Bake at 375° F for 6-8 minutes. Just until you see them slightly turning brown. You don’t want to over cook.
