1 1/2 lbs beef round steak, cut 3/4 inch thick
2 T flour
1 tsp. salt
2 T cooking oil
2 T flour
1 16 oz can tomatoes, cut up
1/2 C finely chopped celery
1/2 C finely chopped carrot
1 small chopped green pepper
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

Directions:
Cut meat into 6 serving size portions. Combine flour and salt; with meat mallet, pound 2 tablespoons of the mixture into meat on both sides. In skillet, heat oil, and brown meat on both sides. Place meat in 11 1/2x7x2 inch baking dish. Blend remaining 2 T flour with 1/4 cup water and stir into pan drippings. Stir in undrained tomatoes, celery, carrot, green pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook and stir till thickened and bubbly. Pour over steak. Bake, covered, in 350º oven for 1 1/4 hours or till meat is tender.
