1/4 c. olive oil
3 cloves garlic minced
1 medium yellow onion, diced small
salt & pepper to taste
1 can (28 oz.) whole peeled tomatoes, pureed

Directions:
Directions:
In a large sauce pan heat oil & garlic over med. heat till fragrant.add onion stirring occasionally & cook till onion is very soft, approx. 15 min. Season with salt & pepper. Add tomatoes & bring to a boil. Reduce to a rapid simmer & cook till slightly thickened, 10 min. Season with salt & pepper. Ready to serve. can add sugar according to taste.

I sometimes do this when I am out of marinara sauce. Is even better than the b ought marinara sauce. Can also add chopped parsley or basil. and oregano if desired.
