Directions:
With a long, wooden spoon or silicon spatula and heavy pot stir and melt butter and sugars. Heat until bubbling and then turn down to a low heat and continue to let the mixture bubble until 300 degrees Fahrenheit on the candy thermometer. This can take 20 minutes or more. Do NOT stir. Pour on to a greased cookie sheet, carefully shake out to the corners. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top, wait a minute to let the chips melt and then spread chocolate over candy. Top with slivered almonds. Cool in fridge or freezer. Break into pieces. Store in fridge or freezer.
