2/3 c. shortening- butter or margarine
2 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 can pumpkin (1 lb. size)
2/3 c. milk
3 2/3 c. Gold medal flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2/3 c. chopped nuts
2/3 c. raisins

Preheat oven to 350 º. In large bowl, cream sugar ad shortening together until fluffy. Stir in eggs one at a time. Add pumpkin, then milk and vanilla. Sift flour and other dry ingredients together, then add to liquid mixture slowly. Finally add nuts and raisins. Bake in 2 greased loaf pans about 60 minutes or until toothpick in center comes out clean. Dust tops with powdered sugar when completely cool.
