1/2 C. butter
1 1/4 C. sugar
2 eggs
2 C. all purpose flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 C. peeled, grated apple
1/2 C. chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add the eggs and beat well. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to the creamed mixture, alternating with the grated apple. Fold in the nuts. Pour into a buttered and floured loaf pan and bake in a 350-degree oven for about 1 hr. Cool in pan for 10 min. Then turn onto a wire rack.
