Juice of one large orange and 1 C. sugar-(combine and set aside until cake is finished baking.)
1/3 C. butter
1 C. sugar
1 C. sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
2 C. flour
1 pkg. dates and 1-2 orange rinds, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients and then add butter, egg, milk and ground dates and orange rinds. Place cake mixture in greased pan and bake at 350-degrees for 35 minutes until golden brown and cake tester comes out clean. While still hot, pour orange juice mixture over cake. Serve alone or with whipped cream.
