1 package yeast
2 T. sugar
1/4 cup lukewarm water
1 pound butter
5 cups flour
3 egg yolks
1/2 pint sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla

Nut filling:
1 pound walnuts, ground fine
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg whites, beaten stiff
a little milk to soften

Directions:
Directions:
Mix yeast with sugar in lukewarm water; set aside until bubbly. Cut butter into flour as for pie dough. Add yeast mixture, egg yolks, sour cream and vanilla. Mix well. Divide dough in 5 parts; wrap in waxed paper and refrigerate overnight. On floured surface roll out into rectangle 1/4 inch thick. Spread with nut filling and roll up like a jelly roll. Place on lightly greased baking sheet; let rise 30 minutes. Brush sides of rolls with melted butter then brush tops with beaten egg. Poke tops to let steam out.
Bake at 350º 30-35 minutes. Brush tops with melted butter and cool in pan 30 minutes. Carefully remove

Nut filling: mix together first 4 ingredients. Fold into stiffly beaten egg whites. Divide into 6 portions.
