Ingredients: SAUCE
1 1/2 lbs ground beef 1 bi sausage ( i use hot) 2-4 garlic cloves ( depending on taste) 28 ounces crushed tomatoes 2 (6 ounce) cans of tomato paste 2 tablespoons dried parsley 2 tablespoon dried basil 1 tablespoon dried oregano 1 bay leaves 1 pinch thyme 1 pinch salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1/2 cup onions ( chopped fine ) 1/4 cup celery ( chopped fine ) 1 1/2 cups chopped zucchini (optional) 1 1/2 cups chopped portabella mushrooms( piton) CHEESE FILLING
2 cups cottage cheese 1 cup ricotta cheese 2 beaten eggs 1/1 cup asiago cheese or 1/2 cup parmigiano-reddiano cheese 2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes 1 pinch salt
OTHER
10 ounces no-boil lasagna noodles 1 lb mozzarella cheese (shredded or sliced) 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Directions:Brown hamburger and sausage.Drain grease . Add onions and celery. Saute for a couple minutes. Add the rest of the sauce ingredients. Simmer for 45 minutes. While the sauce is simmering.Mix together the cheese filling ingredients and set a side.Put a couple spoon fulls of the sauce on the bottom of the pan . Lay 3 noodles on the bottom of the pan. Put 1/2 the cheese mixture on top of that.Repeat with the noodles, cheese, then sauce. Add a layer of noodles then sauce . Top with parmesan cheese.Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 30 minutes . Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes. you may add more mozzarella on top as well. |
