2 pounds round steak, cut into serving sizes
1 pinch salt, to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
I teaspoon minced garlic (or to taste)
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon oil
3/4 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 cup chopped onions
1/2 cup chopped celery

Combine salt, garlic and pepper. Rub thoroughly into meat on both sides. Place meat in bowl, pour vinegar over meat, marinate at least 4 hours or overnight. Drain meat well; discard marinade. Brown meat in oil in a Dutch oven. Combine tomato sauce and remaining ingredients and spoon over meat. Cover and bake at 325 F. for 2-1/2 or 3 hours. **If steak becomes dry, add water to keep moist. Thicken sauce to gravy with flour and water.
