Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 pkgs yeast
3 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp shortening (butter or margarine softened)
6-7 cups flour
1 cup raisins
¼ cup sugar
2 tsp cinnamon

Dissolve yeast in ½ cup warm water. Stir in 1¾ cups warm water, 3 Tbsp sugar, salt, shortening and 3½ cups of flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in raisins and enough flour to make dough easy to handle. Turn out on lightly floured surface. Knead until smooth-about 10 minutes. Place in greased bowl-turn greased side up. Cover and let rise in warm place until double-about 1 hour. Punch dough down-divide in half. Roll each half into a rectangle-18x9 inches.

Mix ¼ cup sugar and the cinnamon. Sprinkle each dough half with 1 Tbsp water and half of the sugar mixture. Roll up-beginning at the 9 inch end. With side of hand, press each end to seal. Fold ends under. Place seam side down in greased loaf pan 9x5x3 or 8½x4½x2½. Brush lightly with butter. Let rise until double-about 1 hour.

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Bake until deep golden brown and loaves sound hollow when tapped-25 to 30 minutes. Remove from pans. Brush loaves with butter.
