½ c. Butter
2 c. Sugar
2 c. Flour
3 tsp. Baking Powder
1 ½ c. Milk
7 c. Sliced Peaches (can use more if desired)
1 ½ c. Sugar for topping
Nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter, and spread into baking dish.

Combine sugar, flour, baking powder and milk. Pour on top of butter. Top with peaches. Cover peaches with 1 ½ c. sugar and nutmeg.

Bake at 350° for 1 hour (I recommend putting the dish on a cookie sheet to prevent overflowing into your oven). Serve warm or with ice cream.

My Aunt Mary Burnett Averett gave this recipe to me. It’s very good, but you can the recipe in half for a smaller pan.
