1/2 pound vanilla wafers
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 small can crushed pineapple
1/2 pint whipping cream

1/2 cup nuts (optional)

Directions:
Butter bottom and sides of 9 x 12 cake pan. Put vanilla wafers in a plastic gallon back and crush them with a rolling pin. Sprinkle in 1/2 of the vanilla wafers in the bottom of the cake pan. Set aside.

Cream butter and sugar together. Add well beaten eggs. Pour mixture over the crumbs in the pan. Sprinkle the well drained pineapple over the mixture. Whip the cream until stiff. Put the stiffly whipped cream over all and sprinkle rest of vanilla wafers crumbs over the whipped cream. Let set in fridge 12 hours or so.

My mom, Rose Kramer, brought this recipe from the hospital after she had Trudi. Her roommate at the hospital had given her this recipe. They were roommates for several days and shared recipes. Back then, you had to stay in the hospital awhile after having a baby.
