Cake:
3 c flour
2 c white sugar
1/2 c unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 c cold water
1 c corn oil
1 T vanilla
1 1/2 c semisweet chocolate chips
Frosting:
1/2 c + 2 T butter, room temperature
5 c powdered sugar
8 T milk
1 1/4 tsp vanilla c + 3 T cocoa powder

Directions:
Directions:
Oven 350º
Butter & flour 3 x 9" round cake pans Sift flour, sugar, cocoa, soda and salt into bowl Combine water, oil and vanilla in another large bowl. Whisk in dry ingredients. Divide batter into pans. Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Bake approximately 25 minutes until done. Cook and turn onto racks.
Frosting:
Beat butter until fluffy, gradually add 3 cups icing sugar,. Beat in 6 T milk and vanilla. Add cocoa and remaining 2 cups powdered sugar. Beat until blended, thinning with more milk if necessary. Stack cakes with a layer of icing between each cake. Ice sides and top of cake.
