2 cups sifted all purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons shortening
2/3 to 3/4 cup milk or water

Directions:

1. Sift the measured dry ingredients together twice
2.Cut the chilled shortening into the dry ingredients
3. Add the liquid slowly -- stirring only until soft dough forms a ball
4. Turn dough onto a lightly floured board and toss till sparingly coated with flour
5. Knead lightly for a few seconds
6. Pat or roll out 1/2 - 3/4 inch in thickness
7. Cut with floured biscuit cutter or cut desired shape
8.Place on prepared pan
9. Bake at 450 for 12-15 minutes
