3 C thawed frozen cherries; save juice
enough water to make cherry juice 1 1/2 C total liquid
3 T cornstarch
1 C sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 T butter
1/8 tsp almond flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Drain 3 C thawed frozen pitted cherries; save juice. Add water to cherry juice
to make 1 1/2 C liquid. In saucepan over medium heat, mix 3 T cornstarch
with juice. Sir until mixture is clear and thick. Remove from heat. Add 1 C sugar, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 T butter and 1/8 tsp almond flavoring. Stir in cherries. Cool. Pour into 9" pie crust. Roll out second crust, place on top of pie and press edges to seal. Sprinkle sugar on top. Bake 50 minutes at 375.
