Makes 6-7 dozen

3 cups sifted flour
1 tsp double-acting baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp cream or milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar, creaming well. Stir in egg, cream and vanilla. Add dry ingredients gradually; mix well. Chill if necessary.

Roll out, one-third at a time, on floured surface to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place on ungreased cookie sheets.

Bake at 400º for 5 to 8 minutes until delicately browned. Decorate with cookie decorations
