1/2 med. head of cabbage, coarsely shredded
1 med. onion, sliced
3 c. tomato juice
2 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 lb. cooked ham

In large pot, cook cabbage and onions in oil over med. heat until lightly browned, stirring often. About 10 minutes. Add next 6 ingredients. Heat to boiling. Cover and simmer 45 minutes until cabbage is tender. Cut ham into 1/2 inch chunks. Add to pot. Heat to boiling. Cover and simmer 15 minutes. Serve with coarse bread.
