2 T bacon drippings
4 C shredded red cabbage (1 medium head)
2 C cubed unpared apples (2 or 3 medium apples)
1/4 C brown sugar
1/4 C vinegar
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. caraway seed

Directions:
Heat drippings in skillet; add remaining ingredients and 1/4 cup water. Cook covered over low heat; stir occasionally. For crisp cabbage, cook 15 minutes; for tender 25-30 minutes.
