1 lb. fettuccine, 1 can chickpeas(14 oz), 2 cloves garlic sliced, 4 tbsp. olive oil, chopped Italian parsley, Parmesan cheese.

Directions:
Directions:
Place oil in a skillet and saute the garlic until golden. Add the chickpeas with the water, salt and pepper and heat through. Cook the fettuccine in boiling water until done. Drain, keeping some of the cooking water. Add the chickpea sauce to the pasta and add some of the reserved cooking water if needed to make more moist. Add parsley and cheese to taste.

This was one of Mom's most favorites dishes. She also used broken macaroni for this dish instead of the fettuccine.
