2-3 lb ham end (bone)
4 carrots, scraped and sliced
1 onion, sliced
4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
4 quarts boiling water
1 cup split peas, soaked 12 hours or overnight
2 T Ketchup

Directions:
Directions:
Place ham and onion in large kettle with water and boil 1 hour. Remove ham. Skin ham and return to stock. Add split peas, carrots and potatoes and boil for 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper and add ketchup. Remove ham and serve as the meat course. Thin soup with boiling water if too thick.
