1 C Navy beans, soaked 12 hours or overnight
5 C cold water
1/4 C vegetable oil
3/4 C chopped celery
1 medium onion, chopped
1 C chopped cabbage
1 C tomatoes
2 T parsley
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 C shells (No. 39)
Parmesan cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Place beans in cold water and simmer 50 minutes or tested done. In oil, saute celery and onion, till tender but not brown. Add cabbage, tomatoes, parsley, garlic, salt, and pepper; bring to boil, add to cooled beans. Add shells. Simmer 30 minutes. To serve, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
