4 medium onions, thinly sliced
2 T butter or margarine
2 10 oz cans condensed beef broth
1 1/4 C water
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
4-6 slices French bread
4 oz package shredded Cheddar cheese (1 cup)

Directions:
Directions:
Cook onion in butter till lightly browned, about 15 minutes. Add beef broth, water, and Worcestershire sauce; simmer 20 minutes. Cover each slice of French bread with about 1 tablespoon cheese and place under broiler till cheese is lightly browned. To serve, divide remainder of cheese and float a slice of bread in each bowl.
