1 lb. chestnuts, 1/2 c. bread crumbs, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 tsp. pepper, 2 tbsp. melted butter, 1/4 c. heavy cream.

Directions:
Wash chestnuts. Cut a long slit on both sides of shell. Bake at 500º for 15 minutes. Shell and skin chestnuts (or use jarred chestnuts). Place chestnuts in boiling slated water for 20 minutes. Drain and chop fine. Add remaining ingredients and toss. Four times this recipe will give a generous amount of stuffing with leftovers. Can be placed in pan and baked. (use some chicken broth to keep it moist).
