¼ cup good oleo
¼ cup sugar
1 egg
½ cup dark syrup
2 ½ cup flour
¼ tsp soda
¼ tsp salt
1 Tbs anise seek (STAR)
½ tsp ginger
¼ cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ cup nuts ground finely
Directions:
Directions:
Mix egg, butter and sugars together
Mix all dry ingredients together

Mix moist and dry ingredients. Will be very thick. Cover and chill over night. Pinch off very small ball and roll in hand, put on sheet and bake at 375 degrees till brown. Keep the dough cool to roll. Will keep for weeks.
