3 c. sifted cake flour, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. butter, 2 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1/2 tsp. almond extract, 4 eggs, 1 c. milk.

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Cream butter. Gradually add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla and almond extract. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture alternately with milk. Beat smooth after each addition. Pour into three 9 inch layer pans which have been lined on the bottom with parchment paper. Bake at 350º for 25 to 30 min. or until cake tests done. Cool, remove from pans, fill and frost with your favorite icing.

This recipe was on an old box of Swan's Down cake flour. Mom used this recipe all the time for cakes that she would frost.
