1 1/2 C sifted all purpose flour
2/3 C granulated sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 beaten eggs
1/2 C milk
1/3 C cooking oil
1/2 tsp almond extract
1/3 C brown sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
2 T butter or margarine
1 C crumbled fig bars (7 fig bars)

Directions:
Directions:
In bowl, sift together flour, granulated sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine beaten eggs, milk, oil and almond extract; add to flour mixture, stirring till well blended. In another bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon; cut in butter till mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Mix in crumbled fig bars. Pour 1/3 of the batter into greased and floured 8 1/2x4 1/2x2 5/8 inch loaf pan. Sprinkle half the fig mixture over batter; pour another 1/3 of the batter into pan and sprinkle remaining crumbs over. Top with remaining batter. With knife or narrow spatula, swirl through batter and crumbs to marble. Bake in 350º oven for 50 minutes or till loaf tests done. Let stand in pan 5 minutes; remove from pan and cool completely. Serve with butter or margarine.
