For short pastry:
1/2 c flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 T sugar
2 T shortening
2 T margarine
4 tsp cold water

For filling:
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c ground almonds
egg
raspberry jam

Directions:
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 425º.

Mix flour and salt in a bowl. Rub in the shortening and margarine lightly until like bread crumbs. Stir in the sugar and using a knife mix with cold water to a stiff dough. Roll the pastry out thin and line 14 patty tins.

In another bowl, mix the almonds and sugar with slightly less than one beaten egg. Make a soft mixture. Put 1/3 tsp of jam in each tin and then 1 tsp of the almond mixture. Make thin strips of pastry from excess and lay across the tops in an X pattern.

Bake about 20 minutes.
