1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening (Crisco)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
3 cups raw oatmeal
1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shorteneing together.
Add white and brown sugars gradually.
Blend well.
Add vanilla, then eggs.
Beat well.
Add dry ingredients.
Fold in oatmeal,nuts and raisins.
Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350 degrees about 12 minutes (I usually only bake 8-10 minutes in order for cookies not too be too hard).
