Uncooked Bacon
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 stick butter
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º. Snip just a little of the white ends off the asparagus. Wrap 3-4 together with a slice of bacon in a spiral pattern and secure with a toothpick. Lay in a Pyrex dish. In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, soy sauce, garlic salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil. Pour the hot sugar mixture over the bacon wrapped veggies. If baking, place in the oven and cook for 25 minutes. If you want bacon to be crispy, broil them for just a minute, watching carefully. If grilling, place on a hot grill and turn to cover all sides periodically. Remove the toothpicks before serving.

This is such a versatile recipe. Use asparagus or beans. If using beans, canned works best with this recipe. You can even cut the stalks into smaller pieces and kabob 3-4 bacon wrapped pieces for the grill.
