2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
4 T cocoa
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 cups quick cook oats
2 t vanilla
(nuts if desired)

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, milk, cocoa, and butter in sauce pan and bring to a full boil for 1 - 1 1/2 minutes. Remove from heat and add peanut butter, oats, and vanilla. Mix and drop by teaspoonfuls on waxed paper until set.

(I found a similar recipe in Joan's recipe box called Boiled Cookies.) Note - if you boil too long the mixture will harden quickly and cookies will be crumbly. If you don't boil long enough the cookies will be gooey and stick together. It doesn't matter though...they'll still be good. This has been a favorite cookie around our house since the kids were little.
