2 cups Flour, sifted
1/2 cup Sugar
1/2 tsp. Salt
1/2 tsp. Almond extract
2 Eggs, separated
1 cup Butter
2 cups Rolled Oats
1 cup chopped Nuts (I use Pecans)
24 candied Cherries

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, sugar and salt into a bowl. Add almond extract, egg yolks and butter. Beat until smooth. Stir in oats. Form into 4 dozen small balls. Dip each in slightly beaten egg whites; roll in chipped nuts. Make a hollow in each ball and place half of a candied cherry in each hollow. Bake on greased cookie sheets in 325º oven for 15-20 minutes.
