1/3 c milk
4 T butter
1 c sugar
2 T cocoa

1 t vanilla

Gently boil in saucepan until mixture reaches soft-ball stage (fudge can form a soft ball when a little is dropped in cold water). Remove from heat & immediately put in sink with 2 inches of cold water in it. Stir in vanilla and whisk briskly until fudge starts to set.

Pour out onto buttered plate and let set.

Grandma Kiley used to make this all the time when we were kids but I have occasionally struggled with cooking it long enough to set up yet not so long that it becomes grainy. Good luck!
