1 cup regular grits, uncooked
4 cups boiling water
1 teaspoon salt
milk
3 eggs
salt and pepper to taste
1 stick of butter
8 ounce sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 cloves garlic, minced

Directions:
Directions:
Combine grits, water, salt in medium saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat 5 minutes. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add butter, garlic, and cheese. Beat eggs in measuring cup with fork until well blended. Add enough milk to eggs to make 1 cup of liquid, stir and add to hot grits. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Put into greased casserole; bake at 350º for 45 minutes to an hour. Let "set" about 5 minutes before serving.
