1 c sugar
1/4 c butter
1/2 c shortening
1 egg
1/4 c molasses
2 c sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together sugar, butter, shortening, egg, and molasses. Add sifted dry ingredients all at once, mixing well. Roll into balls and drop into plate of sugar. Place sugared dough balls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 350º for 12-15 minutes.
