3/4 C. shortening
1 C. sugar
1 egg
1/4 C. molasses
2 C. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. ground ginger
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Add shortening, sugar, egg and molasses to a large bowl; stir to blend. gradually add the rest of the dry ingredients, stir until all ingredients are blended well. In another bowl, place 2 Tblsp. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Form cookie dough into small balls (1 tsp.) and roll ball in the sugar/cinnamon mixture. Place 2" apart on a greased baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, about 10 minutes at 350º.
