2 cups boiling water
1 pound raisins
1 tablespoon baking soda
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup cold water
2 cups sugar
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
1. boil 2 cups water put in raisins and sprinkle in baking soda over the raisins and
simmer for 15 minutes
2. add shortening, cold water, sugar, cloves, cinnamon, salt and flour
3. bake 350 for 45 minutes
