Ingredients:  
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
3 Tablespoons butter or margarine
1 Can Sliced Pineapples
1 jar Maraschino Cherries
2 Cups Flour
3 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1/4 Cup Shortening
1 Cup Sugar
1 Egg, Well Beaten
3/4 Cup Milk

Directions:
Directions:
1. Pre Heat 350'
2. Sprinkle brown sugar in bottom of well greased 9x9 pan
3. Dot with Butter
4. Melt mixture over very low heat
5. Drain pineapples, place slices in pan with cherry in center of each slice

In a bowl combine
1. flour, baking powder and salt set to the side

In another bowl
1. Cream shortening
2. Add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy
3. Add egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla, beat well
4. Add flour mixture a little at a time, alternate with milk
5. Pour batter over fruit
6. Bake 1 hour or until lightly brown
7. turn upside down on serving plate at once
