1 package sweet chocolate (4oz)
1/2 cup boiling water
1 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
4 egg yolk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter milk
4 egg whites stiffly beaten

COCONUT PECAN FROSTING
1 cup evaporated milk
1 cup sugar
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/3 cups coconut

Directions:
Directions:
1. Melt chocolate in boiling water. Cool. Cream butter and sugar until
fluffy. Add yolks 1 at a time, beating well after each.
2. Blend in vanilla and chocolate.
3. Sift flour with soda and salt add alternately with butter milk to chocolate
mixture, beating after each addition until smooth
4. fold in beaten whites
5. pour into three 9 inch layer pans lined on bottoms with wax paper
6. bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes cool and frost tops only

Frosting
1. combine milk, sugar, egg yolks, butter, and vanilla. Cook and stir over
medium heat until thickened about 12 minutes
2. Add coconut and pecans
3. Cool until thick enough to spread, beating occasionally
