1/2 head red cabbage (chopped or shredded)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
2/3 cup sugar
2 large apples (peeled and diced)

Directions:
Directions:
Bring cabbage, salt and water to a rolling boil. Add vinegar, sugar, and apples. Bring again to a boil. Turn down and simmer. The longer it simmers the better the flavor. Simmer at least until the apple pieces are all very soft. Serve cold.
