1 loaf frozen gefilte fish.
vegetable or canola oil
1 green bell pepper sliced into thin strips
1 red bell pepper sliced into thin strips
2 carrots sliced into thin rounds
1 medium onion thinly sliced
1 8 oz.can of tomato sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon lemon juice

Preheat oven to 350º. Defrost gefilte fish loaf until slightly soft (about 20 minutes) Cut into 10 slices. Heat vegetable oil in large skillet. Fry fish slices in the vegetable oil until slightly brown (about 5 minutes on each side) Place into 9 x 13 baking dish. Set aside.

Add one tablespoon oil to skillet. Add peppers, carrots and onions, saute until soft. Add tomato sauce, sugar and lemon juice, stir to combine. Remove from heat and pour sauce over fish. Bake covered 30 minutes.
Serve hot with sauce and vegetables.
