1 large onion, chopped
1 pound extra-lean ground beef
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1 15 oz (or 2 8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
1 16-oz package uncooked long pasta of your choicee

toppings: red kidney beans, canned/drained; shredded cheese; chopped onions; oyster crackers

Directions:

In a deep frying pan or dutch oven, lightly brown and crumble the hamburger with the onions, garlic, and chili powder. Add all the other ingredients down to the pasta. Stir, and simmer uncovered for 1-1 1/2 hours.

Cook the pasta. Serve chili over pasta with choice of toppings.
