1 1/4 cups of rice
3/4 cup of olive oil
4 cloves garlic, peeled and crushed
1 yellow onion peeled and chopped fine
2 tbsn chopped parsley
1 3/4 pounds ground beef
3/4 pound ground pork
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Cabbage 3 medium heads
Sauce
3 cups tomato sauce
1/4 cup of distilled wine vinegar
7 whole cloves

Cook rice as directed. Heat a fry pan and add oil, garlic and onion. Saute until onion is transparent. Stir in parsley and allow the mixture to cool.
In a large bowl combine meat, rice and onion mixture add salt and pepper. Cut out the cores of the cabbages and either boil the cabbages for five min or microwave them in cooking bags for same. Pull off leaves one at a time and plae about a half cup of filling in each leaf and roll up fold in ends to make a bundle and place in casserole. Continue till all filling is used and then mix the tomato and vinegar well and pour over the top of rolls. on top of this add the seven whole cloves. Cover and cook for about 50 min. I use an electric fry pan and this works very well or you can do on stove top on a med low setting.
