1/2 cup cornmeal
1 cup flour
1 T. sugar
1 1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 cup milk
1/2 cup diced onion
1 T. diced jalapeņo pepper
oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
In a small bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Combine egg, milk, onion and jalapeņo; stir into dry mixture just until moistened. Drop batter by T. into prepared oil. Fry for 2 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally. Drain on paper towels. Serve warm.
