4 large Idaho potatoes, sliced into 1/4 inch slices
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoonsall-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
salt and pepper (to taste)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a large casserole dish. Layer 1/4 of the potatoes into bottom of the prepared casserole dish. Top with a sprinkle of salt, pepper, 2 tablespoons butter, 1/2 cup cheese and a sprinkle of flour. Repeat 2 times. Top layer cheese, salt, pepper, and cheese. Pour milk into casserole to cover layers 1 and 2, about half way up to the top of the casserole. Cover and bake about an hour to an hour and a half (until potatoes are soft)
