Crumbs:
3 C flour
1 C granulated sugar
3/4 C veg. oil

Cake:
1 C dark molasses
1 tsp baking soda
1 C boiling water
All but 1 C of the crumbs (see above)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix crumb ingredients together to make crumbs. Set 1 C aside separately.

In separate bowl mix cake ingredients and stir in the crumbs as well (minus the 1 C put aside)
Pour into 13 in cake pan
Top with remaining crumbs
Bake 35-40 mins, watch crumb topping to make sure it doesn't overcook.

This is a traditional PA dutch style treat my Grammy Custard and my mom often made. It's pretty much the same thing as Shoo Fly pie, but in a square cake form.
